Jen Kost, MSW, LCSW, PMH-C
Founder and Psychothearpist
Jen discovered the perinatal world when a friend asked her to photograph her homebirth. Witnessing the mental, physical, and emotional strength it takes to bring a baby into this world was an absolutely life-changing experience for Jen. She knew it wouldn’t be the last time. Soon after, Jen pursued doula training. She completed her doula training in 2014 and fell in love with supporting families through the transition into parenthood. Knowing that being on call and going to deliveries at 3am forever wasn’t sustainable, she went back to school to become a social worker, completing her MSW in 2018. Since then, Jen has been working in Child and Maternal Health in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and outpatient psychotherapy.
Jen has found her calling in life: to support families throughout the perinatal period, including conception, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, grief and loss, and parent-child bonding. She believes that so much of pursuing and becoming a parent is connected to the experience one had of being parented. Jen joins clients on the journey to discovering the inner child within them that needs healing and care as they prepare to offer themselves as parents to their own children.
Jessica Ekhoff, JD
Psychotherapy Intern
After more than a decade practicing law, Jessica is excited to bring her critical listening, analytical thinking, and empathic response skills to a new career in maternal mental health. Her own postpartum mental health experience deepened her appreciation for the power of perinatal therapy, leading her to become a dedicated volunteer with Postpartum Support International (PSI). In 2022, she co-led Chicago's Climb Out of the Darkness, PSI's annual event for raising awareness and funds. Additionally, she has co-facilitated one of PSI's peer support groups for over two years and is trained in assessing and treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Jessica is currently pursuing her master's degree at The University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice.
Jessica values the unique combination of life experiences, personalities, and goals each client brings to therapy. She views herself as both a teammate and a cheerleader, supporting her clients through major transitions, grief and loss, and the challenges and frustrations of everyday life. Jessica believes in the innate capacity of all clients to heal through reflection, connection, and self-discovery. She is grateful for the opportunity to help clients find more joy, meaning, and fulfillment in their lives.
